With the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Long Island’ brilliant coral reefs, pristine flats and serene beaches are a haven for fishing, sailing, and yachting in The Bahamas Out Islands. Its western shoreline features 80-miles of soft sandy beaches and there are also hilly areas with cliffs. There is world-class bonefishing, a rich variety of fish and other sea life. This tranquil island offers a few inland surprises, including St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, the oldest church in the country and the 667 ft. deep Dean’s Blue Hole, the second deepest blue hole in the world. The Vertical Blue Free-Diving Competition is held every year attracting competitors and film crews. The population is 3,094 and the Island is about 80 miles long and 4 miles wide.
