Great Exuma and Little Exuma

Home » Great Exuma and Little Exuma
The Exumas are a collection of 365 islands and cays within the southeastern area of The Bahamas, divided into 3 sections: Great Exuma, Little Exuma and The Cays. Great Exuma houses the majority of the population and its capital of Georgetown is known for its large deep water harbor in which visiting and charter yachts dock. The Exumas are also home to two National Parks one being the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park that has the second-largest coral barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Another will be added soon, at Moriah Harbour Cay. Throughout the islands and cays lie miles of pristine powder white sand beaches with sparkling sapphire blue water as seen from space by NASA astronaut Scott Kelly (retired). Many cays and private islands have been purchased by the ‘rich and famous’, there are luxury resorts, golf courses and the world-renowned Swimming Pigs.
